PTE Essay Template (200–300 words)
Introduction: [Paraphrase the topic]. While some argue that [view A], others believe that [view B]. This essay will argue that [your position].
Body 1: The primary reason for this is [main point]. For instance, [specific example or evidence]. This demonstrates that [link to argument].
Body 2: Furthermore, [second point]. Research has shown that [evidence]. Consequently, [conclusion from evidence].
Conclusion: In conclusion, [restate position] because [summary of main reasons]. Therefore, [final statement].
PTE Summarize Written Text Template (1 sentence)
The passage discusses [main topic], explaining that [key point 1], and further noting that [key point 2], while concluding that [main conclusion].
PTE Describe Image Template (40 seconds)
Opening: "The image shows [type of visual — bar chart / map / process / diagram] presenting data about [topic]."
Main trend: "The most notable feature is [key trend or highest/lowest value]."
Comparison: "In comparison, [second notable feature]."
Conclusion: "Overall, the [image] suggests that [main finding or trend]."
How to Use Templates Effectively
- Memorise the structure, not the exact words — adapt the language to each specific task
- Practise each template at least 10 times with different topics to make it automatic
- Never use the same example in every essay — vary your evidence
- Adjust vocabulary level to match the academic register required by the exam
Important: You cannot bring written templates into the exam room. The goal is to internalise the structure so it comes automatically under time pressure.
